Court Deadlines contains a set of free deadline calculators designed to assist and educate lawyers, legal secretaries, paralegals, and even those who may not be in the federal courts often. We created this site as an internal project to help keep track of federal deadlines. The site grew to include general deadline calculators to compute other due dates that might appear in federal or state court. Then we branched out to include product and service recommendations to help legal professionals keep up with their cases and deadlines. Check out step-by-step guide on how lawyers can start a law blog and increase their online presence.
The general deadline calculators compute (a) a specific date based on any start date or (b) the number of days between two dates. These are useful when you are calculating state court deadlines, preparing a scheduling order, planning a case budget, or performing any number of other tasks. The federal tools help you calculate a due date based on specific parameters codified in the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
The software provided is offered “as is.” Court Deadlines does not take into account the unique scheduling requirements of your case. Also, it goes with out saying that you should always familiarize yourself with the relevant rules in your jurisdiction. If you have questions about a court deadline, it would be wise to consult the clerk or court coordinator assigned to your case for information about any specific deadlines.
Always compare our math with your calendar to make sure you have the correct due date. If you notice any discrepancies in our math, please let us know so we can fix it!
Please enjoy the site. We hope the calculators are as helpful to you as they have been to us.
