Artificial Plants vs Live Plants for Your Office

Artificial Plants vs Live Plants for Your Office

468x60 Silk Bamboo Trees

Flowers and plants are great ways to add ambience and personality throughout your home or office. Can articial plants be just as good as live plants? We think so.

Here are 3 reasons why you should consider an artificial plant for your next office decoration:

1. Live flowers and plants can be a burden for a busy lawyer or office manager. They must receive the proper care in order to make the surroundings aesthetically pleasing.

2. A plant can die for any number of reasons: seasonal, poor care, not enough sunlight, etc. A wilting plant or set of flowers will look tacky to your clients.

Nearly Natural 5289 Golden Cane Palm Silk Tree, 6.5-Feet, Green3. Live plants require regular care and nourishment to grow. You will find yourself pruning and repotting your decorations a couple of times a year. Add to that the potential mess of fallen leaves and scattered dirt, and you will see why houseplants can be quite a chore even if you are gifted with a green thumb.

Fortunately, there are alternatives to live plants if you want to add that extra splash of color and decor to your office. Artificial plants and silk flowers are a perfect low maintenance addition to a law office in terms of decor.

Artificial plants can be purchased easily purchased online. Unlike their live counterparts, they do not require special care or storage from the retailer.

This is Why You Should Always Track Changes and Use Comments When Editing in Word

This is Why You Should Always Track Changes and Use Comments When Editing in Word

meh order

A federal judge’s dismissal order reminds us of why you should always use the (1) Track Changes and (2) Inline Comments features when editing documents in Microsoft Word.

Evidently someone, most likely the judge’s clerk, lack inspiration (and good authority) for a statement summarizing the requirements for a false advertising claim. A parenthetical on page 11 reads as follows:

“(Meh I need a better rule statement than this.)”

See Page 11 of the Order embedded on the next page.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel of San Diego signed the February 5, 2019 order. The order was later amended.

You can avoid gaffes like this by simply tracking changes and using the built-in comments feature in Microsoft Word, as explained in the following video:

The full order can be seen on the next page.
